Its range extends from Mexico to Panama. In our climatic zone, the monstera is regarded as an attractive pot plant that is perfectly suitable for cultivation in the home. In the wild, however, it is mostly found as an arboreal epiphyte. The monstera is a highly original climber with large, dark green leaves with distinctive holes that have become firmly established in contemporary design canons. Care and cultivation of monstera
At home, the monstera is an easy-to-grow and undemanding plant. All you need is the right place and a few care conditions to enjoy its beauty:
✔️ site: a bright spot, but not in full sun, to semi-shade, such as the windowsill of a west or east window, or possibly a close proximity to a south window.
✔️temperature: 18-22°C, also adapts quite well to a range from 15-30°C
✔️ substrate humidity: moderate. The monstera should be watered when the soil in the pot is dry and the upper part of the substrate is dried out. During spring and summer, monstera only needs to be watered generously once a week, during autumn and winter every 10-14 days when the plant enters its vegetative period. The plant should also be sprinkled 1-2 times a week.
✔️ fertilisation: every 2 weeks on average.
✔️ Replanting: for young monstera once a year in spring, when the plant reaches a larger size once every 2-3 years.
