Description
Bonsai substrate 5L - Compo
The right substrate is the basis for healthy plant growth and flowering. Specially adapted for bonsai trees, Compo substrate is a mixture of selected nutrients and drainage substances. Only such will provide the plant with the correct conditions for function. Bonsai can be an excellent choice as plants for Hotels and Spas, for easy maintenance it is worth sourcing a specialised substrate
Specialised bonsai substrate Compo provides 3 benefits in one product. Firstly, adequate water retention. Secondly, good drainage. Thirdly, the provision of optimum aeration conditions.
Inorganic soil clods allow sufficient water to be held and retained. They also loosen its structure for better air circulation and drainage of excess moisture. The use of an admixture of vermiculite in the substrate will provide the plant with adequate drainage. The soil for bonsai also creates the necessary space for mycorrhiza - that is, natural organisms living in the soil.
Bonsai substrate - how to use
Planting bonsai trees should be carried out in early spring, when the plant is in winter hibernation. Clean the roots of the plant to be transplanted of any excess old soil. Do not remove all of it, so as not to damage the sensitive root structures. Spread a layer of Compo Sana bonsai soil of a few centimetres on the bottom of the pot. As it is rich in drainage and fertiliser, there is no need to mix it with other products. For proper care, reach for plant accessories to make your plant treatments easier.

For planting bonsai trees it's worth choosing a bonsai pot with drainage holes. In this way, you will create an opportunity for the plants to drain excess moisture and prevent root rot.
