The mixture of Compo Orchid Soil has been selected to make your plants feel at "home" and grow fast and healthy. Orchid soil provides the most important ingredients that are close to the natural conditions of this plant species.

Compo orchid substrate contains, among other things, high peat, pine bark and a starter dose of fertiliser. This combination creates a loose, porous and permeable substrate. Compo Orchid Substrate facilitates air access to the roots. Despite its loose structure, this mixture retains an adequate amount of water and mineral salts.

Orchid substrate - how to use

Plant your orchids when the substrate in the pot has decomposed, or when the roots of the plant begin to grow out of the pot. Remember to repot orchids after flowering.

Before your plant is placed in a suitable substrate, however, clean the roots of any soil residue and any damaged, rotten legs. Place it in water. This will keep the roots pliable and limit damage during repotting.

For repotting orchids, choose transparent pots, which will make it easier to monitor the roots. After gently rolling the roots, place the plant in the pot. Cover the roots with Compo Orchid Substrate. Remember not to knead the roots. Just shake the pot gently and the substrate will fill the empty root space by itself.
